Nailed It- Minimalistic Nail Designs

Every Sunday, I give myself a gel manicure. I used to get my nails done at a salon every other week but in an effort to save money, I started doing my own gel manicures at home. I’ve tried many different methods and products to ensure my manicure lasts for 14 days. Many products failed to deliver, causing my manicure to become chipped and dull in less than a week.

Currently, I am using Gelous Advanced Gel Coat as a base and layered between the gel color of choice (which varies within brands). To finalize my manicure, I use Seche Vite as a top coat. If you have not heard of Seche Vite, it is THE “holy grail” for manicures. It adds a thick shiny gloss that leaves your nails looking FABULOUSΒ for days. It has taken me years of doing my own nails to come up with a process that works for me and I’m so glad I finally manifested the perfect home manicure.

I usually like to stick to classic colors on my nails. In the winter, I like Chanel Vamp (a dark red) and OPI Lincoln Park After Dark (a purplish black). Otherwise, I rotate between Dior Rouge 999 (a classic red) , OPI Samoan Sand (a true nude), Essie Ballet Slippers (a pale pink) and China Glaze White on White. Lately, I’ve been admiring nail designs that pump up regular manicures and make them a little more fascinating. Sure, some of the designs are very crafty and take skill/technique to achieve. But with a little patience and practice, it’s definitely doable.Β Here are a few nail designs I am currently loving:
