Alternative pop singer Ryn Weaver literally popped out of nowhere last summer with her smash hit “OctaHate” (a catchy single she describes as a “sassy tantrum”) which currently has over three million plays on Soundcloud. Born and raised as Erin Wüthrich in San Diego, Ryn was more into the creative arts than she was music. While studying theater in New York, she met the producer (Benny Blanco) who would years later become instrumental in establishing her music career.
Signed to Friends Keep Secrets (which is a subsidiary of Interscope Records), Ryn has had the amazing opportunity to work with many of the newest producers like Blanco, Charlie XCX, Passion Pit and Cashmere Cat. Her debut song was feverishly tweeted by a few already famous singers and may or may not have had anything to do with her quick rise to fame. Either way, you can’t deny that her voice is phenomenal. And not only that, but her personality is likable and down to earth, which makes is so easy to support her budding career.
Ryn is currently working on the release of her new album, due out soon. But in the meantime, you can listen to her EP titled Promises here:
